The Diocese of Akot

Akot was inaugurated as a diocese on March 13th 2009. It was first considered in 1993. It was created from part of the Rumbek diocese. The prominent Tribe group is Dinka Agar. Akot has an ex ECS secondary school which is now government run.

Visit St. Peter's Cathedral church, the oldest church in the diocese.
